Falcon Manor Equestrian Centre

As this venue comes under a number of treaties as defined by Australian Governments alcohol and drugs are banned. Further we are a non-smoking zone and will request that you do not smoke.

At all times safety must be given as priority and we ask that riders and spectators alike give due thought to staff when giving instructions and offering advice. It is important that people listen to what we tell them, especially when it comes to how they should be behave in regards to the horses and ponies. It is important to understand that each horse has character and each reacts to certain conditions.

Enclosed footwear must be worn when near and /or handling horse -this does include spectators. There is no safe distance from horses when they become spooked or are just plain being silly

When riding riders are required to wear helmets, trousers, jodphurs or jeans as well as enclosed shoes. shoes should preferably be riding boots, however any boots with minimal tread and heel should be okay. Work boots are a possible alternative and joggers as a last resort. the reason we ask for the first option is due to safety. Please look at the following picture.

The advantage of wearing correct foot while riding is most important when at any stage we need to dismount from our horse in a hurry. Firstly the heel stops our foot from moving too far forward and possibly jammming in the stirrup and secondly the minimum grip make it easy for our foot to slid out of the iron in a hurry. Rest assured if we have our feet correctly positioned then we place enough pressure on our stirrup not to slip. Hence have we our balls of our feet resting on the irons, heels slightly lower than the toes, and the same heels vertically in line with our hips. Just imagine standing over in object without sitting on it....

In warm weather we suggest that you cover up with the neccessary tops/shirts etc, wear sunglasses and sunscreen. When not on your horse please wear a hat

Our water comes out of the ground and would not be suitable for most people to drink so please bring water with you. We have saddle bags that will hold up to a litre of water when out on trail rides. We do generally sell water and soft drinks - however this not a guarantee.
